Capitol Journal: California must apply "use" right - now
California retailers can't compete with e-distributors which no sales tax, and the cash-strapped state loses out big time income as a result. Time to apply the tax "use." Recently, I bought a small television after sailing for what seemed like 40 miles at Wal-Mart. The price was OK: $158 more recycling costs and $ 13.83 tax from sale of $8.
